Part-Time Middle School Swim Coach
The Foote School seeks a part-time swim coach to lead our Middle School team (grades 6-9, all genders). Our program aims to create and foster a learning environment that encourages our student-athletes to be self-confident, committed, and responsible team members. We emphasize three general principles: hard work, commitment, and sportsmanship. The coaches are an integral part of learning a sport, applying skills, and developing team chemistry so that everyone works toward a common goal.
Coaches will plan and lead practices, striving to balance their practice plans with stroke technique and development, off-the-block and turn mechanics, and support for individual time improvements, while creating a fun, positive, and safe learning environment for swimmers with a variety of experience and skill levels. For swim meets, coaches will arrange lineups and keep records of the meet. For all practices and meets, coaches are expected to travel with the athletes on buses. Coaches will also need to communicate effectively with families in person and in written form.
We are deeply committed to diversity and an inclusive curriculum and community. We actively encourage applications from candidates with broad and diverse backgrounds and from individuals of all races, nationalities, and beliefs. We seek candidates with a clear interest in joining a community that challenges prejudice and is committed to diversity and inclusion.
