Location: The Foote School, 50 Loomis Place, New Haven, CT

Job Type: Temporary, Seasonal, 7:45–3:15pm, Monday-Thursday

  • Program Dates: 6/22–7/31, 7:45–3:15pm
  • Curriculum PD: 5/16, 10:00am–1:00pm
  • New Staff Orientation: 6/18, 10:00–3:00pm (pending NHPS snow days)
  • All Staff Orientation: 6/22, 10:00–3:00pm

Horizons at Foote (HAF) is hiring an experienced Art Teacher for our joyful, mission-driven summer academic program. Teach small classes, bring creative ideas to life, and deliver high-quality enrichment that expands opportunity for New Haven Public School students.

  • Teach art to students in grades K–8
  • Establish clear routines, expectations + positive classroom culture
  • Implement provided curriculum while thoughtfully enhancing instruction
  • Design + teach two specialized art classes aligned with your strengths
  • Use a healthy materials budget to support engaging, skill-building projects
  • Collaborate with teachers + program leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field preferred
  • Prior public school teaching experience required
