Assistant Director, After School Program (Grades K–9) Part-Time | 20–25 hours/week | $24/hour | Beginning October 2025

Foote’s After School Program (ASP) is an essential part of our school community, serving children in grades K–9. The program provides a structured, safe, playful, and supportive environment that includes indoor and outdoor play, opportunities to participate in projects, and study time for older students.

The Assistant Director, working closely with the Director, is responsible for helping oversee the daily operations of the program and ensuring that all students are engaged, safe, and thriving.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise After School Program (ASP) teachers
  • Work directly with children and provide classroom/activity coverage as needed
  • Assist the ASP Director in managing daily operations
  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed; monitor and report health and safety hazards
  • Communicate with parents regarding student needs, policies, and procedures
  • Promote teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship among students and staff
  • Maintain open communication with the ASP Director about programming, students, and families
  • Keep accurate records and assist with billing as necessary
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, advisors, and division heads to address student concerns and behavioral issues during after-school hours
  • Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned by the ASP Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working with children in grades K–9
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a professional, empathetic approach
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively
  • Computer literacy and comfort with program operations
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and student-centered
  • First Aid/AED/CPR certification (preferred, training available)


Compensation

  • $24.00 per hour
